Medicine Hat. Alberta.
There's a spirit here that's hard to explain. Unmistakable when experienced.
At the heart of our community lies a different kind of energy, a pulse that sets us apart and makes us PROUD to be Hatters.
Ours is a community that is built differently.
Our resolve is carved from the banks of the South Saskatchewan River and brick by brick, we've crafted a place where ingenuity grows, good ideas thrive, and people prosper.
A place where tradition meets innovation.
Where the spirit of the prairies collides with the drive for future progress.
Where the days run longer, the sun shines brighter, and the air feels warmer.

We're not just another city; we're Medicine Hat.
Ours is a different kind of energy.

My family and I love Medicine Hat, as it's the perfect size. It's big enough that there's plenty to do (for us and our young children), but not so big that no one knows each other. It has plenty to offer, and is the perfect place to raise a family!

    Home Sweet Home

    by KatinHat, 5 months ago
I grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan. Moved to Medicine Hat in 1999. I love this city and call it my Home Sweet Home because half the people living here come from Saskatchewan. I cannot go anywhere in the city without seeing people I either know or am related to. I absolutely live, love and laugh here. 🌞

    Big City Big Heart

by Erica Letwinetz , 5 months ago

There is a common phrase that says "Home is where your heart is. " I am proud to call Medicine Hat my Hometown. I moved here with my family when I was 10 years old. Graduated highschool and then moved away to college and have lived in 4 different cities and 1 small town. We loved that little town and it's town motto was small town with a big heart. When it came to the time for my husband and I to decide where we wanted to "put down our roots " we chose Medicine Hat. It is a safe,... Continue reading

    Home Sweet Home

When I crest the hill coming into Medicine Hat and see the trees bordering the river I know I am Home! There is a peace that settles around me as I drive down the hill and cross the river. There are so many great things about our City. I love that I can walk to get groceries, or to the drugstore, or through the park enjoying the natural beauty around me. I love that I can go to a soccer game AND a baseball game in the same evening! I love that I can chat with my neighbors and know... Continue reading

Medicine Hat - A City Alive

by Patricia W, 5 months ago
"All hell for a basement", a famous poet did sound,

natural gas in abundance, beneath our vast ground.

But big skies above, wide-open and blue,

inspire, lift up, make the soul feel renewed.

Coulees, at once, somehow both dry and lush

give food, give shelter, in burrows and brush,

wind through the city to the South Saskatchewan shores,

give way to cottonwoods, sage brush and more.

The downtown bustles, with cafes and art,

the trains that grew us, right there at the heart.

You might hear it announced from a few blocks away

the Mavericks scored a home run, the... Continue reading

    Medicine Hat is Home!

    by Amybert, 5 months ago

While I am grateful for the time I spent away from Medicine Hat after high school, it made me realize just how much I really do love my home town. Medicine Hat is an amazing place to live, and I am so happy to be here.

My parents still live in the same house I was raised in, I met my husband & his kids here, I have amazing friends (many who live in walking distance from my home), and there’s always lots going on!!

Plus, we have SO much talent packed into our small city! Musicians, artists, actors, chefs... Continue reading
