The Hat is a hidden treasure

We moved to the Hat from Calgary four years ago. The lifestyle here is much better. The Esplanade has excellent concerts and events. The historic downtown is charming and the river walking paths and bike trails are exceptional.

No road rage and overstressed people here. Friendly neighbours who immediately made us welcome. You can chat with a stranger here and cars will wait to let you cross the road. All the fresh farm produce and local meat is amazing too. No other small city in Alberta can match the beauty of our deep river valley and coulees. Medicine Hat truly is special.
