The City of Medicine Hat continues through the Alberta Utilities Commission(External link) regulatory review process for the East Ring Enhancement Project. The Project was separated into two filings:

  1. 60L (North Area) is registered as Proceeding #29537
  2. 30/40L (Northeast, Cypress County, and Southeast Areas) is registered as Proceeding #29538

On February 19, 2025, the AUC released their decision approving Proceeding 29537 (North). This granted the City of Medicine Hat with permit and licence to construct and operate the transmission line. Although approved, no construction timelines have been identified.

Processing 29538 continues through the AUC process and a public hearing will be held this June to further discuss the project.
