June 2025

The City of Medicine Hat continues through the Alberta Utilities Commission(External link) regulatory review process for the East Ring Enhancement Project. The Proceeding #29538 (Northeast, Cypress County, and Southeast areas) is currently being reviewed by the Alberta Utilities Commission through an online public hearing (June 2 and 3, 2025). On February 19, 2025, the AUC released their decision approving Proceeding #29537 (North). This granted the City of Medicine Hat with permit and licence to construct and operate the transmission line. Although approved, no construction timelines have been identified.
