East Ring Enhancement Project

The City of Medicine Hat continues through the Alberta Utilities Commission regulatory review process for the East Ring Enhancement Project. The Proceeding #29538 (Northeast, Cypress County, and Southeast areas) is currently being reviewed by the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) and the public hearing concluded June 3, 2025. The AUC has 90 days to issue its decision on the Project. We encourage you to sign up for email updates to stay informed as we progress through this process.

On February 19, 2025, the AUC released their decision approving Proceeding #29537 (North). This granted the City of Medicine Hat with permit and licence to construct and operate the transmission line. Although approved, no construction timelines have been identified.
