What is a Community Well-Being Plan?
The Medicine Hat Community Well-Being Plan (CWB Plan) is a strategic document that outlines our community’s top goals and priorities around health and well-being. It is made up of specific ideas about how to improve well-being for you and your family.
In the past, much work has been done within the community related to social well-being, quality of life, and inclusion. But as the Medicine Hat community grows and changes, new opportunities and challenges related to well-being have also emerged. The new Community Well-Being Plan will establish an updated vision and strategy for well-being over the next 5-10 years.
How will the Plan be created?
There are three key steps needed to put the Plan together:
After the Plan is written, how will it be used?
Well-being is multi-faceted. It includes things like wellness and public health, environment, education, and inclusion. The Plan will be a tool to help guide decisions about how we want to invest our community’s time and resources to improve these various aspects of well-being. Having a plan will also help us to measure progress and hold ourselves accountable for the actions we take.
By creating a Community Well-Being Plan, we can effectively address the diverse needs of community members and work towards building a more vibrant and resilient community.
Who is the Plan for?
We all have a part to play in contributing to the overall well-being of our community. To truly be impactful, the Community Well-Being Plan needs to be owned by the entire community, including the local government, community organizations, businesses, and all residents of our community. We all have a role to play in improving the overall well-being of our community!
