What is a Community Well-Being Plan?

The Medicine Hat Community Well-Being Plan (CWB Plan) is a strategic document that outlines our community’s top goals and priorities around health and well-being. It is made up of specific ideas about how to improve well-being for you and your family.

In the past, much work has been done within the community related to social well-being, quality of life, and inclusion. But as the Medicine Hat community grows and changes, new opportunities and challenges related to well-being have also emerged. The new Community Well-Being Plan will establish an updated vision and strategy for well-being over the next 5-10 years.

How will the Plan be created?

There are three key steps needed to put the Plan together:

  1. Conduct research to understand the current state of well-being in Medicine Hat,
  2. Engage with the community to create a renewed definition of well-being that reflects the diversity of the community and any recent changes, and
  3. Put together a tangible, forward-looking plan that identifies focus areas, specific actions, roles and responsibilities, and targets to evaluate success.
