Choose to be a survivor

Life isn't always easy, we all get dealt with goods and bads in life. Sometimes the bad seems extreme. I have been there. The worst I experienced was the death of my daughter 4.5 yrs ago. Previous to this I had lost my dad to cancer and a friend of mine asked me a question... are you a victim or a survivor? I thought about this and decided to be a survivor. This helped me overcome the death of my dad and my daughter. I continues to help and guide me still to this day. It helps me in dealing with the ongoing battle my mom endures with facing Chemo and Cancer for the 5th or 6th time (we lost count... lol). It helps me deal with the Pandemic and Covid ( I have now had it twice). It helps me with the stresses work presents for we are understaffed and the work still needs to be done. It helps me with the ability to turn off the news and media when my anxiety and the negativity gets to me.

You need to live today for today is here and now. The sun is shining, the birds singing, spring is coming which freshens everything up and is a rebirth of nature. Enjoy today.

The past is in the past. You will never forget it. It teaches us lessons and you learn from it. Lion Kings reference from Rafiki works well here ' Its in the past, it doesn't matter' .. it does matter. However, you need to move forward and not backwards for you can't change or undo what has been already done.

Tomorrow - well its not written yet. It is in the future and no one knows what that will bring. Can you change or alter it? Maybe, but its how you change or alter it - embrace it. Go for that walk in a park. Look forward to that Tim Horton coffee. Call that friend you haven't talked to in a long time. Embrace it and make its all that it can be.

So in conclusion, I choose to be a Survivor for it opens up the world for me to enjoy. Have a super wonderful day.
