How can I provide input and stay informed?

The City is collecting feedback through the Online Community Survey and Shape Your City. Joining the project contact list ensures you receives project updates and notifications of future engagement opportunities.

Why does the City need a Water Management and Adaptation Strategy?

Water is needed to sustain communities, ecosystems, and business. Pressures like population and economic growth, both local and regional, and a changing climate are increasing the complexity of water management. A comprehensive, City-wide approach to water management will support the City in making informed investment decisions for successful water management in the short- and long-term. Successful water management means reducing the impacts of water related risks and challenges on residents, businesses, and City operations.

Does the City have a Water Management Strategy today?

The City does not have a single, comprehensive water management strategy that encompasses water, wastewater, and stormwater management. There are numerous bylaws, policies, action plans, and initiatives that relate to water management and these will be integrated into the WMAS.
