September 11, 2026 - Design options and Council meetings

On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Council received for information a presentation highlighting the Riverside Corridor What We Heard Report ([Read] / [Watch starts at 49 min]).

On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, the City's Development & Infrastructure Committee reviewed a Request for Decision outlining three potential design options for the corridor ([Read starts page 247] / [Watch starts at 57 min]).

At a high level:

  • Option 1 would rebuild the corridor largely as it exists today and is Administration's recommended option.
  • Option 2 would offer a compromise design that would meet the City's collector road standard.
  • Option 3 would implement the previously presented 50% design, including a multi-use path.

A detailed comparison of the three options is provided below.

A draft visual approximation of crossing locations (with final configuration and design being completed after a decision of Council) was shared at D&I on September 9. These are the same crossing locations as proposed in the 50% design.

No decisions have been made on these options. A Request for Decision is expected to come before City Council on September 21, 2026.
