Orange stakes on 3 Street N

You may have seen some orange stakes placed along your property line on 3 Street N.

These were put in temporarily by Legal Land Surveyors for two primary reasons:

  • Confirming Existing Width We need to confirm the exact width from existing property line to each mature tree to ensure a safe distance is maintained and achievable. This helps us understand what equipment could fit in the space if any work happens in the future. Using machines is usually more costeffective than doing work by hand, but only if they can safely fit.

  • Design options Having precise measurements lets us explore different possible design layouts that stay within the rightofway and protect the existing trees.

Municipal Works summer students will be in the neighbourhood on Thursday, June 25 to take these measurements. We plan to remove the stakes on Friday, June 26 so residents can mow their lawns as usual.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. No decisions have been made about this project. This preliminary work is necessary for any potential engineering work regardless of design.
