You may have seen some orange stakes placed along your property line on 3 Street N.
These were put in temporarily by Legal Land Surveyorsfor two primary reasons:
Confirming Existing WidthWe need to confirm the exact width from existing property line to each mature tree to ensure a safe distance is maintained and achievable. This helps us understand what equipment could fit in the space if any work happens in the future. Using machines is usually more cost‑effective than doing work by hand, but only if they can safely fit.
Design optionsHaving precise measurements lets us explore different possible design layouts that stay within the right‑of‑way and protect the existing trees.
Municipal Works summer students will be in the neighbourhood on Thursday, June 25 to take these measurements. We plan to remove the stakes on Friday, June 26 so residents can mow their lawns as usual.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. No decisions have been made about this project. This preliminary work is necessary for any potential engineering work regardless of design.
